Civilian Soldier Alliance Members participated in the Student Farmworker Alliance's 2012 National Encuentro in Immokalee, FL September 13th-16th. CivSol members introduced SFAers to Operation Recovery, and spoke on the importance of solidarity and long-haul organizing for social change.

LT, CivSol member from Portland, Oregon and one of the founding members of Civilian Soldier Alliance spent the first 5 months of 2012 as a volunteer Resident Organizer in Ft. Hood, TX. Here is an interview that shares her general thoughts on the experience and the work happening on the ground.

As we look back on an amazing year for the Civilian-Soldier Alliance (CivSol), we are incredibly thankful to our friends, family, and supporters for making this critical work possible. At this critical time in our work, we urge you to consider making a contribution to the Operation Recovery Resident Organizer Program in Fort Hood, Texas. Help us carry this important service member and veteran led organizing project forward. We need to raise $6,000 by January in order to make this program a reality.
