Human Rights and Natural Disasters

Life is a miracle. It goes on even after a lot of difficulties that a person has to go through. Every now and then, there is news on the television or Internet indicating the loss caused by natural disasters.

Natural disasters are natural phenomenon which can damage the overall economy of a country. However, it is also important to keep in view the human rights since people also need protection. When natural disasters hit a specific country, the overall situation is extremely challenging, and the government has to make all the necessary measures in order to bring the life back to normal. A good example is 2010 floods pakistan’s road. The citizens, with the help of the government, had to find ways to cope up and continue living their lives.

Natural Disasters

strong typhoonIn order to understand the definition of ‘natural disasters’ in a simple way, let’s consider this example, where a land is hit by an earthquake which is empty and not a single person is inhabited on this land. In this scenario, it won’t be a natural disaster unless the land had been inhabited by people.

So, natural disasters occur when people are affected by a certain disaster like flood, earthquake, or a hurricane causing a mass destruction affecting the people living in a certain place.

Human Rights

Human rights, as the name implies are the rights of every being which are accepted universally. There is no discrimination what so ever, on the basis of the gender of the person, the language that a person speaks, the nationality that a person belongs to, the religion, or the race.

Human rights is a broader term which takes into account a lot of factors including the fundamental rights of the human beings.

As explained previously, natural disasters occur on a regular basis and sometimes, it affects the economy to a greater level such that people find no other way but to migrate from that specific country. Those who stay are just waiting for a miracle or some kind of help from the government.

government's help

Under the circumstances which are of extreme nature, usually resulting from the natural disasters, it becomes a must for every government to take all the necessary measures to provide relief to the affected people. It becomes a must to treat everyone with equality rather than differentiating them on any sort of basis.

People are sometimes left in poorer conditions after a certain flood, earthquake or a hurricane. There are also possibilities of worst scenarios and under all these pressure, people are looking up to government to provide them with the necessary measures.

It is true that sometimes people lose hope but giving them a reason to look forward to something is just enough to make them wait for another day which can bring joy and peace for the rest of their life and the life of their loved ones.
